The first annual Steampunk and Cyberpunk Festival is currently on. Running from August 8th to 28th, the Festival offers events and stores, with several covettable freebies and gifts. Created by N.A.I.L. Productions with VR Style, the festival is set up on part of the Pavo Isle SIM. There is also a photo contest running, and a stage to hold several events. And a MM board offers a scrumptious pair of women’s shoes.
Some of my favourite Steampunk Creators have stores at the festival, and some new ones to me also. After picking up an outfit at Ezura, plus some free gift bags, I found a free Steambook Pro (steampunk laptop) at the entrance to Black Opal Designs. The laptop fits perfectly into my office at home, and there is both a color and sepia version.
At Four Winds whilst admiring the fabulous contraptions and prefabs available, I picked up a free ‘silly craft’, and fell in love with the alchemy set – one day I really will create my own Linden gold.
Kats Meow won me over with the old Victorian swimsuits available in sailor blue, for both men and women. Xentricity offers a great smoking pipe, and if you take the landmark to the main store, a large and eccentric hair style.
Although at the time I visited the festival, there wasn’t much going on, just meeting some of the fabulously attired visitors was worth the TP. My thanks to Kitti Thorne and several other well-clad avatars and particularly gstone Turas for showing me the way with Steampunk. Their clothing was simply glorious. And so was their conversation.
