PACIFICBLUE HANLY

Black (PacificBlack Placebo)

Summary of Authors and the Family

PacificBlue Hanly

Pacific joined Second Life early 2009, arriving because of her writing interest. She maintains a Writing blog also, and for her first month or so, used that to write about her second life. As the Second Life reached past mainly writing interests she saw the need to found another blog especially to contain posts on SL and her interests. And so began The Chicken Diaries, which started roughly at the same time she got a call from her favourite (and only) Aunty asking if she had a spare bedroom handy.

After starting off with writing groups and contests within Second Life, Pacific shortly became equally interested in the first breedable AI animals in Second Life – sionChickens. In Real Life, Pacific is currently a writer (of fiction), but previously spent twenty years as a software tester. She chose not to develop or (mainly) test within her Second Life, and instead is a very good consumer.

AuntyAudrie Placebo

Aunty, Audrie, Aunty Audrie – she answers to all of these. Aunty Audrie joined Pacific in-world due to a family crisis  in mid- 2009. As she had nowhere else to stay, Pacific put her up provided Aunty Audrie helped out with looking after the sionChickens. Despite an intitial dislike, the chickens grew on Audrie, to the point that she went out and sought the next breedable pet herself (Petable Turtles) when they went live. Audrie blogs along with Pacific, and enjoys a good cup of virtual tea, and not being dressed up like an idiot when she can get away with it.

PacificBlack Placebo

Black actually rezzed into Second Life only a month after his cousin, PacificBlue. Although you wouldn’t have noticed – being a reasonably typical male, he spends less time within his own Second Life, and comes and goes on a whim. In January 2010, Black officially was welcomed onboard as a co-author for The Chicken Diaries, taking up some staged decor challenges. He is also good at being dressed when a male fashion model is called for. Black owns the island Pacific and Audrie call their home, but has a love/hate relationship with all the primmy breedable animals the team keep primming his home out with.

How Are They Related?

Pacific is Audrie’s neice. Audrie and Pacific’s mother were sisters. You can spot the family resemblence a little, in the naturally curly hair and green-ish eyes.

Note : both Pacific’s mother and Audrie’s husband have now passed away, so they only really have each other left, aside from Black (see below).

PacificBlack – or just Black as he’s better known, is the nephew to Aunty Audrie on her late husband’s side. This means that he and PacificBlue are in fact, cousins by marriage or second cousins or something – no one has bothered to work it out. Unlike Audrie and PacificBlue, Black has a large family in real life, and spends most of his time in it.

Some might wonder how he got his name. When he signed up for Second Life, Black didn’t put that much thought to his name, and borrowed it from his cousin, but then chose a manly colour (or so he thought) to append the Pacific with. It was too late by that time for his Aunt to wave frantically at him and ask what people might think when they saw both Black and Blue together.

How Do I Contact You Guys?
