Not much has happened to the general Breedable pets within Second Life this week – unless you count that Ozimals Bunnies went into Open Beta overnight Sunday / Monday! And with new features and baby bunnies, too.
Ozimals Bunnies
Ozimals bunny beta testers received a couple of new update releases of the beta testing bunnies, culuminating in the unexpected (for me, anyway, given I was well asleep) release to open beta overnight Sunday 8th November.
Ozimals open beta can be found either via xstreetsl.com or from the Ozimals preview store at the Magic of Oz. Speaking of the preview store, I dropped by, and documented the bedlam there at 2:30am with a couple of photos in a blog post.
The beta package provides copious user guides and instructions for those not used to the bunnies as yet, and the new bunnies took even the old beta testers by surprise – with new food, and they are very tiny baby bunnies on birth.
Yesterday another release of this open beta came out, with some bug fixes.
With the open beta came also the release of three exclusive bunny homes from veLveteen. These are also available at the Ozimals preview store and off xstreetsl.com. To celebrate, this blog is giving away one of these bunny homes to a lucky reader, simply by commenting on our post.
Kudos for ‘strange environments to breed bunnies in’ must go to an Ozimals group member, Tesserect, who posted a bunnies in space pics on Flickr during the first open beta day.

Petable Turtles
On Friday the Petable Chat group had one person reporting an odd message against a turtle – ‘[5:37] Turtle: I have cracked’ which had a lot of people trying to work out what was going on. However the message came from a person keeping 400 turtles un-named, and breeding relatively randomly with all of them, so could not be pin-pointed. Without knowing the outcome of the puzzle, I thought it worthwhile reminding people to name their turtles for several reasons including being able to pinpoint what is going on, and because the Petable Turtles database holds onto these names if anything goes wrong.
Saturday saw some trouble with beacons producing cloned turtles. Once repaired, the turtle trader made good by donating five turtles for everybody in-world who has active turtles, bringing the trader figure up to 65% of the target total, and the release of a promised (but unknown) new points item closer.
In the secondary market, the week has brought several auctions and sales for Anomaly eggs, high shine turtles and other special turtles. Although some might accuse the Turtle market to currently be falling, being able to locate such special and desired turtles on the market is good for general consumers such as myself. Early last week I went out myself to buy a couple of shine turtles, as my own small breeding crew appear to not be able to produce these.
HunnyBunny Bunnies
HunnyBunny remained in closed beta for the actual bunnies, however a couple of interesting notecards have been sent out to the HB update group. The first found group chat unfortunately disabled for everybody perminantly after repetitive abuse of advertising for other AI animals inside of it.
Design Contest
The second notecard announced a contest / request for creators to design the HunnyBunny eggcradle and carrycages – as low prim as possible, maximum four prims for the former, one prim for the later. Creators have until Friday 12pm to submit designs to Hunny Larimore. Join the HunnyBunny Update Group in-world to pick up the notecard which includes a full permissions HB logo texture to hopefully include on the objects.
The winner will receive a fat pack of HB food, and be linked to from the HB blog.
sionLife and sionChickens
Again, no news on the sionLife front this last week.
