BugTussle – presented by LVS & Co and Sher’s Country Cottages, is having a weekend birthday bash themed towards country and cowboy. This celebrates Ravelynn Templar’s birthday. Walk around this shabby chic BugTussle town sim to find many bargains.

Going cheaply you can find many country themed furniture pieces, some pose prop sets, plus some fabulous prefabs – many of which will suit your ranch setting for horses or other animals. Here are my own favourite finds, much of which are not even on sale, but excellent bargains none-the-less.

Reflections in Violet

When I found my Aunt back in town (see her previous post), I knew just what to do – whip out the new props from Adorkable. Called ‘Reflections’ this pillar comes in rich purple, and provided a good feature putting my Aunt and I together.

However, this post became much more than a props and poses post, as it suddenly moved into the realms of new versions of viewers and a Violet pitstop into an infohub.

She then pointed out I should be crediting my ‘weird looking’ look that I’ve developed (the quotes are from her side). This is my second purple satyr outfit, and she was right – I will credit it. She was wrong about it being weird – wasn’t she? Seriously, my Aunt needs to embrace the fantasy of roleplay a little more in this metaverse.

Reflections Prop

The Reflections Prop from Adorkable Poses allows for two avatars to pose at once – one on the left and one on the right. Each avatar can choose their own poses – there are five to choose from – and these can reflect or mirror those chosen by the opposite avatar. If you don’t have two avatars, one person can operate the prop also.

Kirstens S20 Viewer

But before that, I decided to download the latest Kirsten’s Viewer – S20 is developed on SL Viewer 2.o coding, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that Kirsten has incorporated in all the good features of Viewer 2.0 plus a camera control unit from Viewer 1.23. Yes! I finally have control back, and once I’d worked out how to get rid of the large static sidebar on my right, all was good…

Kirsten’s Viewer is one of the approved third party viewers on Linden Lab lists. You can download S20(20).exe from the new www.kirstensviewer.com.

(Note – the default viewer settings upset my ratings, meaning that these had to be reset to allow for Adult, PG and Mature ratings to allow me back onto my own land, so keep an eye out for setting up everything if you do upgrade, something true of any viewer upgrade, of course).

Violet Welcome

So, everything was going swimmingly well tonight, with my Aunty finally back home, and I about to get a list of worn items to credit here. Then I logged off, and back on five minutes later, to find myself dumped naked and hairless (the loss of hair is much worse for a female, I admit) at a Welcome Area and Infohub. Suddenly, my home land was gone, with no information on what was going on. In fact, the many others dumped into Violet Welcome Centre are just as misinformed as me.

I made the most of it, however, once my clothing had materialised a little. Violet Welcome Area, afterall, fits the Paint SL Purple theme for the week, and it’s actually quite a nice spot to roam around in, if you’re stuck. Themed as a Japanese gardens, I soon found several nice spots to rest my laurels in. So, the final images of my current purple look have been taken in Violet.

Purple Satyr II

This look was based on one of the many fantastic fantasy skins available at Skinthesis. The Seether – Gray Hob features purple markings and some green tonings to the skin. I added matching Hob Gray fae ears and some of the Skinthesis eyes to the look. Purple on Satyrs doesn’t ring true – fauns should normally be of more nature-themed colourings, and although I know there are plenty of lilac and purples flowers in nature, it just looked more urban than natural. So I mixed up the urbanity by adding some anarchy tatts on top -

Purple Workout

Hello, it’s me. I’m back, but I’d prefer to slip back in-world with little pomp and glory (a split metaphor, I realise). I’ve been poorly lately, but have finally recovered enough from a double hip operation to move around so that I don’t look like some flaming 80 year old, and here I am. A fit young 79 year old. Haha.

My GP gave me some gentle exercises, so that’s how I thought I’d start off. Of course, once I arrived, my dear niece greeted me with the news it is something called Paint SL Purple week, so I had to go out and find something purple to put on.Please excuse my stomach poking out in that.

And the pose balls she put out – a group gift just arrived from Pulling Strings – well, they are far too violent for my new plastic hips, although given that it’s all fake anyway – and the pose balls do all the work, I think I can convince my doctor that no damage was done. There are four poseballs in ‘Feel the Burn‘ but I couldn’t quite manage the pushups.

(And I must say, I’m somewhat flummoxed by my niece’s new weird look – I shan’t be going away too often if that’s what happens while I’m away. She looks very alternative, I must say, and I’m not so sure about those hooves at all).

My exercise session took place on top of the roof of a new building that’s appeared in my absence also. PacificBlue has a new two story office on the shores, with a greenhouse plonked on top of it. The only place with enough floor space for exercising is on top of that roof – although it’s on a skylight. She reassured me it was made of toughened glass – the type which is used in those rotating towers many major cities have. And the glass held, even when she put out a larger prop later on. But still… is it any wonder I couldn’t really do those pushups, when it was on top of my own reflection?

SL Props & Poses | Pose Fair Review 3

It’s the second to last day for the Pose Fair, and I re-visited to find more great poses and props. This is the third and final post of my picks found at the Pose Fair this year. I hope that there will be another next year, it’s a great opportunity to see many pose creators not so well known (as yet) and do pose shopping in a one-stop area.

Here then are my final picks for what I liked at the Pose Fair 2010. This Fair runs until April 16th so you still have a day to go and find your own poses, props or AOs.

Tillie’s Posing Stand & Hud L$600

Yes, I realise I’m totally remiss in not blogging on Tillie’s Posing Stand & Hud before – because it’s basically my go-to tool for posing (plus Aunty Audrie even has her own stand out in the studio) but I’m darned well blogging about it now.

Because Tillie has her latest version stand up for sale at Pose Fair, with 50% of proceeds going to motivation. So, if you haven’t got this stand yet – go there – now!

VMotion – My Sign L$300

I had to choose from all the poses in the VMotion store at the Pose Fair. Because all of the poses and props instore are donating 100% to the motivation charity. All of them. I chose this my sign collection, but there are many nice couples poses available plus a reasonably well-known petals pose pack.Incidentally, VMotion isn’t the only pose creator doing this at the Fair, there are a couple of others who are generously donating certain percentages of all store sales at the Fair.

Viva Poses – Step by Step – Free

Here’s my pick for freebies at this visit. (Note that many of the pose creators offer freebie goodie bags in their Pose Fair stores, or free poses can be found in many of the stores). Viva Poses gives you this set of step poses.

Slash Me Poses – /me Catwalks – L$495

SMP offer a new prop set, a catwalk with 12 poses. 50% of all items sold through the Pose Fair goes to motivation, so I chose to take a look at this. Obviously I need a height adjustment for these poses, or I’m too tall nowadays.

Kami Hitoe – Elder’s AO L$500

Kami Hitoe are possibly no. 1 in mer animations, but if only my Aunty Audrie were here today to see this – a new elder AO which comes with staff and stick, and 36 animations. 50% of proceeds to motivation, and this AO was popular – because I saw three avatars sporting it while travelling around the Fair myself.

Jag2 – Inventory Prop L$150

This inventory prop is just right (plue 50% goes to motivation) – holding 7 poses such as cleaning and exhausted for everybody who’s spent time cleaning up our inventory. I’m sure I have one of those giant candy canes hanging around there after Christmas, too.

Glitterati – Of Course

As the main person behind the Pose Fair, Katey Coppola has produced several new pieces of work exhibited at the Fair.

One of my favourites is the large Window Shopper, found in the Gay Poses store, but featuring 15 unisex poses amongst the window mannequins. This is L$700 with 50% going to motivation.

Glitter on the Floor is another prop you will find within the gay store, this features 10 male poses, but I wasn’t the only female avi trying them out. L$600 with 50% for charity.

In the Main store you will find Lockdown for L$750 (50%), with 15 poses in the cell.

The store also features the almost if not now famous guitar rock star poses – male and female collections. L$250 for each collection, or L$50 each. And right beside this display you will find the freebie Second Style guitars with poses set out – for free, yes. That’s the guitar I’m using in this model of the one of the poses. 50% donation.

Storin – Globetrotter L$600

These bags and suitcases prop set have been blogged all over, but I still like them. There’s something about the ability to take a trip, and look cute whilst posing doing it.

And for L$1 you can get a couples poseball with a pink suitcase.

Snooks – When Emleigh goes afk L$1

Love this little dollarbie you can get outside Snook’s central internal store at the Fair. A pink balloon, and I’m lying down on the job, too! Image is at the top, as I pass out from my exertions. Now, go find your own poses!

SL Props & Poses | Pose Fair Review 2

It’s the second to last day for the Pose Fair, and I re-visited to find more great poses and props. Not to mention the pose fair skins – “being naked in public has never been so gender specific”.

Here below are my second picks from the Pose Fair. I will follow this shortly with a third image gallery of further poses, to break it up a little.

You have until the end of day tomorrow (April 16th 2010) to visit the Pose Fair and pick up your own favourites.

PF10 Exclusive Pose Sets – Male and Female, L$500 each

Starting off at the TP Central area with these fantastic pose collections, created exclusively for Pose Fair ‘10. Both the male and female set contain 35 poses, all to benefit the Motivation charity. Created by leading pose creators such as Glitterati, LAP, Olive Juice, chanimations, aDORKable, and for the boys – even the now dead PDA. And too many more to mention.

For any starter model or blogger, these are the perfect investment, and hey – for any sadly pose-addicted posers like me, equally so.

(Please excuse the genetalia dummy shot above – those giant mannekins at the central spot are definitely female, don’t you think?)

Posemaster – Hairplay L$80 Set, L$20 each

I chose the Hairplay set from Posemaster because apparently these poses are quite good in highlighting cleavage – as well as hair. Or so I thought..

50% of proceeds on the Hairplay poses go to Motivation.

Fotoscope – Fotocopier

Next door, don’t be too scared to jump onto the Fotoscope Foto Copier outside their store. Very fun.

Fotoscope Island is well worth a long visit, but in the meantime, definitely check out what Korgi Lerwick has available inside at Pose Fair. This includes a L$299 FotoMeter – containing 57 in-built (and quirky) animations for you. 50% goes to motivation also.

Mudhoney- Rouge Getaway Photoble – L$1000

Mudhoney’s Photobles are well worth the price, and the Rouge Getaway is even better so via the Pose Fair – because 100% of the proceeds benefit motivation.

Composure – Support Fatpack L$500 or singles L$200

Composure take the motivation charity appeal and turn it into a fun set of props and poses – featuring a wheelchair and friends to support you. (Obviously, I had no friends to support my modelling of this one). 100 % to motivation.

It seems fitting to leave this post at Composure’s mobility support poses. More will be posted very shortly.

SL Props & Poses | Pose Fair Review

I finally got some time to take a trip to the Pose Fair now on. The following images and blurbs are my picks from the Fair as I travelled around it briefly. The Pose Fair is on until 16th April, so you still have time to go.

I hope to do a second review with another trip to the Pose Fair to come.

The Pose Fair, centred on the Shisei SIM, commenced April 2nd and runs until April 16th. As with all large events like this, expect and plan for reducing the lag.

On my own visit, the Fair was very quiet, and build textures rez quickly due to some very good design and repetitive use of the buildings, but vendor and pose textures take a little more time. I went dressed down in low-Arc clothing as much as possible (but still am sceptical about arc) and also turned off as many huds and attachments as possible. Despite my best efforts lag in texture rezzing and movement finally got the best on me, and after an hour of exploration I left, promising to return at a later date.

As a single going to the Fair, I wasn’t easily able to try out the many couple or group poses and props available (well, without looking a bit weird, that is), so confined my own picks to those that catered more easily for my own needs as an individual poser. And can you tell, I love props.

Many of the pose creators at the fair have items out to support Motivation, an international charity with objectives to getting people with mobility problems more mobile. You can learn more about Motivation via this website.

Okay, on with my picks.

Adorkable Poses

Girls Rule Prop Set – L$300

Blogged to death all over, the Girls Rule prop set gets a thumbs up from me also. I just wish I had a bevy of female friends to come over and share it with.

I love these, especially the shoe and lower body ones. Adjustable too.

– 100% of the proceeds go to benefit motivation.

Impele

The Ledge Poses – L$100

are exclusive to the Pose Fair, with 50% of proceeds going to Motivation. The poses come separately (no transfer) and you also get the ledge prop itself with poses set inside.

Can’t turn this one down, especially on Easter weekend, right? One pose in this bunny. Image is the header for this post.

Whilst at the Pose Fair I was surprised to find another photoset of poses for holding Ozimals bunnies. Zo’s has fifteen of these, and yes – I did happen to have an Ozimal bunny in my inventory to show you one of them (although it’s a baby so is quite small). 50 percent of proceeds go to motivation on these poses.

SL Props & Poses | Pose Fair 2010

I’m really looking forward to the first ever Pose Fair this year. Setup by Glitterati’s Katey Coppola, I’ve also seen this being advertised by some other pose creators in-world and pose groups. I’m hoping to get a blogger’s preview of the event come the end of this month also, so that I can show you everything there.

# WHAT IS POSE FAIR?

Pose Fair 2010 is a fair dedicated to poses, animations, aos, etc. There are so many fairs already – why can’t we have our own?!

We will be supporting the charity Motivation – a mobility charity that works to help disabled people throughout the world in low income countries, who do not have access to other means of support. A mobility charity is so appropirate to the work we do within Second Life, and we hope you agree!

There will realistically be lag, yes, unless no one cares and the place is quiet.
There will be animation vendor scripts and poseball scripts all trying to work, so to combat this we’re keeping the design really simple so you won’t have to load too many textures straight away.
Pose Fair will be on its own sim, and we hope that will help.

SL Props & Poses | MB CreationZ with On the Road

It’s about time I featured some more props or poses on this blog. So here’s a quickie. It’s new out at MB CreationZ and called ‘On the Road’.

The full sculptured prop features animated poses for 6 avatars, comes in at only 70 prims, and sells for L$495.

That’s me on the prop, by the way – I’m a dog at the moment. As you can see, it actually works for dogs, too.

Ozimals Bunnies | Pook Bunny Pose Set 1

Previously we’ve had LAP (Long Awkward Pose) develop and release new poses for holding your Ozimals bunnies. The original AOs which sit in every Ozimals bunny also come from LAP.

Now another Pose creator has released a set of poses for holding your bunny with, and for those perfect portrait shots. Pook! has released a six pose set for only L$150.

As with any poses with an object (in this case, a bunny), the bunny will need editing most probably, to fit your avatar.

Pook has a little store on the Oculea SIM. You’ll need to actually look up on the second floor to find this set of poses (and a few Ozimal bunny nests for sale).

As with all Ozimals, to wear your bunny, don’t forget to first turn movement off. Then take your bunny into inventory to wear it. Poses created for Ozimals Bunnies generally will use the right hand as this is the default attachment point for the bunnies. This offers you a bonus thanks to the design of the bunnies – Ozimals set it that holding your bunny will add a little happiness to it’s statistics, and you need that for breeding purposes.
