At 12 noon Saturday 2nd January, HunnyBunny was due to go live. There was a slight delay before the Bunnies SIM was reopened to the masses, and the first event was an easter egg hunt – for both ordinary eggs containing little prizes, and twenty exclusive eggs. The last of which I never found, despite my best efforts to move through the lag on SIM.
The launch party was DJed by Rusch Raymaker who also supplied easter egg hunt hints over the SIM media. There was some delay as launch party attendees anzxiously awaited the arrivals of the actual bunnies. By 1pm the call was on to come see their arrival. Unfortunately I crashed out right then, after tentatively making my way to the store. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.
Please excuse the one picture I got before the many crashes, I’d already taken my graphics settings down to as low as possible to save crashing – still didn’t work, obviously. I would like to think that my graphics crash helped bring the bunnies onto the SIM, what do you think?
Well, without boring you with the details, my subsequent attempts to get back onto the Bunnies SIM – along with being in the same virtual world as everybody else, and not in some limbo land only shared by myself – was not successful for the evening. My pain was obviously shared by many others. As I stood there in the store listening to, but not seeing the others, I became aware of fisticuffs happening out on the bunnies welcoming area as accusations towards flexi-hair causing ARC flew around from new arrivals. Luckily I was clad in my Farm and HB t-shirt and incredibly low hair, not that anybody else could see me to notice. My apologies if I walked into, through or over the top of anybody or everybody trying to wade through the lag also.
So I went home and promised myself that – as normal – I would always avoid trying to do anything in Second Life on a Saturday night my time – completely impossible.
My sound system was fine, however. The HunnyBunny vendors – when you can rez them into view – provide a ten pack of bunnies, food and other accessories, and a starter pack of two bunnies – which will be the ones I’m after eventually. I’ll see you at the store tomorrow, nice and early…
