On Tuesday Petable Turtle enthusiasts (called ‘shellers’) were told about an upcoming exciting feature in the next release due hopefully next week sometime.
Petable Turtles would have accessories (think capes, glasses, etc). If you have any suggestions for appropriate accessories, you are welcome to add these to the suggestion board on the Petable Community Forums.
The official introduction to Accessories is available on the Petable Blog (link below). Once announced the in-world chat group flew off with many interesting ideas for accessories for the turtles. Several were already underway in design via the Petable team at the time, while others put through by the general community may well have been taken up for the first set of accessories.
The accessories will be based off the spare prim inside the turtles with the January re-design of the turtle bodies. They will not contain scripts for sounds etc, but can be anything which can be sculpted around the turtle bodies from that one prim.
The first issuance of turtle accessories will be via the store once the update is released. Via Matthew Anthony’s details in chat groups and his Plurk timeline we also know that –
- The launch will involve 15 – 20 accessories, some of which have multiple variations.
- Accessories will be like some points items – once applied to a certain turtle you can’t un-apply them and transfer to others. They are a one-time use only.
- Turtles wearing such accessories will therefore transfer with those accessories if sold or traded in the markets (much as a turtle who has had a growth cookie applied will transfer with the larger size).
- Accessory-wearing turtles will be wearable ie. the Wearable Turtle will show the accessory if that licensed turtle has one.
- In the future, turtle closets may be brought out – this facility will allow the one turtle to have more than one accessory – the closet will allow the checking in and out of the accessories that turtle has.
- In the future there may well be special or exclusive accessories made available for a limited time or via different means, to be collected.
Look out for turtle accessories hitting the grid coming your way soon…(don’t I sound like an advertisement there?).
