Over the last few days I had a chance IM meeting with Bruce Liebknecht, the creator of PlantPets. I had a slight problem with my first plant which had finally spawned it’s first baby plant.
In doing so, it came to my attention that there were new plantpets out lately. Knowing this, I went and took a look at the PlantPets Main Store.
And I found a totally different store than I had previously entered into. The Main Store for PlantPets is now looking very corporate, with two large display areas. On entering the store there is now a subscribo setup for update news also, something missing previously with PlantPets.
Immediately to the left is the New area. And here I found all the latest from PlantPets, two of which I now own.

Lucky Bamboo
A swirly bamboo, out in time to still celebrate the Chinese New Year.
Climbing Rose
This is the one I noticed firstly. The detail on the trellis work and slowly growing twining stems of this rose are absolutely beautiful. The climbing rose come sin a red, white, pink, yellow and golden orange.
Candlebra Vomica
Available in green, blue, yellow, red, pink. I had to look this one up on the web to see if it was a real plant – it looked like one of those fly-eating pitcher plants to me. I’m still not sure, as google didn’t bring up both words together, but it may look like the plant is poisonous to pets, but good for stopping vomiting. Not sure…
Discocactus
This is a barrel type cactus which has cute flowers. Again, it’s available in a number of colurs – pink, white, blue, red and purple.
Rare PlantPets
With these new PlantPets comes additions to the list of possible rares you may breed. Rare plantpets can only arrive in baby plantpets. Your plantpets will spawn babies after 52 days, provided you keep them healthy and happy. Spawning can be quickened with the use of purchaseable spawn boosters also.
The cactus and candelabra both throw a chance of having rare plantpets – the cactus could give you a rainbow cactus baby (your chances are 16.67%) and the candelabra could produce a glowy baby with the same statistical chance as that of the cactus. The climbing roses can produce a black beauty rose or a faire charmed rose, both with a 14. 3% chance.
Other rare plantpets can come from other breeds – there is a chart of these in the new section also.
More in the Store
The new Main Store layout makes finding things much easier. To the right of the entrance you will find the freebies – including some boxing gloves, a cap, a 24hour demo plantpet to try out, and a fan of plantpets outfit for you – including a watering can, of course.
On both the ground and first floor you will find the plantpet vendors. Up the stairs you will also find the spawn boosters in various packs, some pots and plant stands to hold multiple plantpets for you.
PlantPets can be bought as transferable gifts also, once the recepient opens their box a script inside will order the delivery of the plant from the PlantPet servers.
