sionChicken and sionCorn Main SLurls and Groups In Second Life

Main SLurls for sionProducts

  1. Main SionLabs store - Sion Labs at Boardman – this is a small stall holding six vendor machines only – vendors for V11, V12 sionChickens, and sionCorn vendors, plus a vendor to actually pick up all three vendors for free for yourself also. You will also find the sionChicken vendors at most major resellers, farmers, and stores out there, with one set out at the Farmers Markets below. Or you can have your own now, for free.
  2. sionCorn ConvertersBlakseeWorld. There is now one sionCorn converter available at this SLurl for converting mature corn cobs (placed in cobservers) into food bowls.

Main Groups for sionProducts

  1. Chicken Farmers – a very big group in SL, this one allows for advertising of eggs and chickens for sale. Prices are not to be discussed, including the advertising of ‘cheap’ or ‘free’ eggs etc.
  2. Sion Labs Updates Group - this group one is for updates from Sion Labs.
  3. Chicken Guardians Group – founded by Baldi McMillan and GreenShamrock McMahon, this is a general discussion group on sionChickens, although sionCorn is also discussed now on it. Well worth joining, as there are quite often free accessories sent through to the group (including several chicken coops). NO advertising.
  4. Chicken Advertising / Chicken Advertisors Groups – these obvously allow advertising  which is -  plentiful.
  5. SionCorn Offical – this is the new official sionCorn group opened by sionLabs for support chat over sionCorn. Yes, the official part of the group name was spelt wrong, so look it up as ‘Offical’.
  6. Chicken Breeders of SL – advertising is allowed.
  7. Chickens are People Too! – a group that is mainly for support, but currently allows advertising.
  8. Chicken Luvrs - a new group opened for advertising.
  9. Chicken Springer – a new group opened to allow for debates and gossip (banned from some of the larger groups), although not very active at all.

Where To Get Accessories, Lives and Eggs

The Farmers Markets

  1. Lavish Farmers Markets – now full of many sionChicken resellers, including large plots of chicken farmers and smaller stalls. You can pick up eggs and some lives (live chickens) in boxes from the stalls. Accessories and coops are also being sold at the Farmers Market. You can also see a famous “golden rooster” roaming around the inner market.
  2. The Farm – the Farm is huge, simply huge, with three different areas of market stalls, and is full of many of the products and tools plus many eggs.
  3. ER Market (The Egg Rach Market) – this growing smaller market also holds quite a few very good accessories and tools for the chicken farmer.
  4. Rusted Roost Farmers Market – this is a new market started up in a skybox in July ‘09 which includes a few stalls.
  5. H&M Lockjaw Farms – this is a huge region including three full farmers markets of stalls, and larger retail outlets surrounding these. Mostly eggs and a few lives are found in the stalls, but the outside stores also sell accessories such as coops.
  6. Jasmine Hills – there is a small quantity of stalls here to peruse. Stalls allow a higher primmage so you may find more eggs on each stall.
  7. Koko Farmer Market – opened July ‘09 as per the comment below.
  8. “Posh” Farms at Chickywood- a boulevard and stores catering for the pampered pet, as detailed in this post.

  4. D&S Chicken Farm - great selection of eggs, some orphaned chickens to take home, and large breeding pens.D&S also recently auctioned one of the first Ancients as an almost pure white egg. Known for their almost pure blacks (Russians) and whites. D&S Chicken Farm have, in July ‘09 brought out the faux sionChickens – which provide an animated hen or rooster, with text phrases over their heads.
  5. Lavish Chicken Shop – a lovely basket of toys available, plus blankets to share with your chickens (I won’t give you my opinion on that!) which the chickens think is a coop.
  6. Bahia Chicken Farm accessories – recent additions with some wonderful coups and hatcheries.

Accessories for the Chicken Farmer

  1. PSP Farms – PSP Farms provides the PSP Automagic Chikkin Feeder – this is a subscription service which provides a food vendor for your land. Instead of rushing back to check for empty food bowls you can use the Chikkin Feeder to monitor and rez out new food to your placeholders as needed.
  2. D-VTech Chicken Feeders – similar to the PSP Automagic Chikkin Feeder, D-VTech has a selection of individual feeders – both for small and large bowls, which automatically replenish the food bowls when needed. A server-side feeder which will fill more than one bowl across a sim is also available from the main store linked here. You will also find these for sale via various resellers and farmers markets.
  3. sionChicken Notification Network – you can get an Egg Notification system here, which will notify you when an egg is laid, and give you the SLurl to it. And available now, the sionChicken Egg Notifier and Retriever system will send out a drone to pick up eggs and secure them in a deposit store, ready for you to simply package them up at your leisure.
  4. Color-Namer Hex-Vector Hud. This HUD and database of names according to your input colors will give you a color name for your eggs when naming them. The HUD is available to purchase through various sionChicken farms and resellers. Once purchased, you will have updates for life. Or you can get from the creators own store, NN’s Gadgets.
  5. Pan’s 1 Prim Egg Vendor – you will see this vendor board being used throughout all the chicken markets. There is also Pan’s 1 prim egg auction vendor available for that extra-special egg. Available as individual boards, or a copyable version. Pan also does a color namer similar to that of the color-namer hud mentioned above. Pan’s color namer works on hex and vector colours also.  And Pan’s Egg Box is the latest out. This is free, and totally modifable or copyable. The box picks up the name of your egg as you name it. You can then store the egg in a normal egg protector and store that inside a box. You can purchase yours from Pan’s Critter Farm or other chicken farms such as the Farmers Market or Jasmine Hill
  6. The Egg Organizer – this is a simple 1 prim egg which allows you to organize or store all your sionEggs within it. Operating for the owner only, on clicking it, you can choose from an inventory index, and either the egg chosen can be rezzed out, or given to your normal inventory. Available from The Egg Ranch.
  7. Chicken Joey Watcher – this security device watches for foreign roosters on your land, counts chickens, holds access lists and provides security against griefers. It’s available via various sionChicken resellers and stalls, created by A&R Design.
  8. EggBoxer - this is expensive but a popular tool, with constant updates being sent out with all the version updates of sionEggs lately.  On rezzing out the box, and clicking it, the eggboxer will fetch any eggs it finds, rez out a proteggtor, and automatically pick up the full egg information including race and colour which is displayed as hover text on the box. Then, just put the proteggtor into the box. Compatible with Pan’s one-prim egg vendors also. The Eggboxer is available for sale at farmers markets all over the place.
