Second Life® (SL) is a virtual world launched by Linden Lab® mid-2003. It is accessible via the internet, with a free client program called the Second Life Viewer to download. Within the Second Life world, residents can interact with each other, explore places, participate in individual and group sports, events, music or relationship activities, create, market, trade or sell virtual goods and land using an in-world financial system based on Linden Dollars®, and generally live a second life.
