- This means love (the symbol is actually a sideways heart). This symbol for love is often used in SL chat and blog titles etc, as an abbreviation for the word 'love'
- UI
- UI – user interface.
- vehicle
- Vehicle - A scripted object whose movement you can control. Typically, a resident will sit on/in the vehicle and use it as a form of transportation. Vehicles include cars, airplanes, hoverboards, boats, UFOs, and much more.
- vendor
- Vendor - A scripted object that can sell objects, clothing or other items to residents. Typically, vendors can be seen as billboard-like objects on walls, often with browse right or left arrows to view item images. You pay the vendor to receive the object selected.
- voice
- voice – used for talking instead of traditionally typing.
- welcome area
- welcome area – a designated location in Second Life new users (newbies) are sent after passing through Orientation Island.
- whisper
- whisper – chat which is only heard within 10 metres of your avatar. Normal chat is 20 metres, whereas shouts are the full sim.
- windlight
- windlight – sky, water and atmospheric lighting effects in Second Life. Advanced users can set some windlight affects via their own viewers. There are now windlight presets available to download on the internet.
- xstreetsl
- xstreet SL - A commerce website featuring a currency exchange and real-time shopping for products, services, and real estate in Second Life. See http://xstreetsl.com.
