We were invited by Callie Cline to visit Posh farms, a store set up a few months ago, catering for pampered pets / AI animals within Second Life. Set up by Callie and barnesworth anubis, the shop offers quite a few pens and accessories for both the sionChicken, Petable Turtle of (upcoming) bunny enthusiasts.
As Pacific is more the sionChicken liker, and I’m a Turtle keeper, we both decided to go and have a look at Posh Farms.
Chickywood (on a SIM beside the fashion CC store) consists of a large boulevard with small shops to one side, a Chickywood sign (Pacific just had to get a tourist shot in front of it, *sigh*), and the end store – Benedict and Florentine.
Not only is there posh farms as a shop, but Chickywood also holds small shops from Coop Scouts, Chickanery (a turtle shop!), Eggy Waygie, KatatOnik, and Chickpeas. On the other side of the boulevard there are smaller market stalls for Little Chicken, Chick Rules, Kawaii Chickens, Cheepers Creepers, and B’eggs.
The posh farms store offers starter packs for sionChickens which include 3 eggs, toys and a 1 prim pen. Other stores offer sionChicken eggs for sale, including five (currently) mutant black eggs at Eggy Waygie – these are called negative eggs at the stand. The stalls also sell chicken eggs.

Chickanery offers a few accessories for turtle fanciers – some terranium / equariums in several colour options, and the free to pick up Petable Turtle guide created by Moo Money (this is also available through some turtle groups, and is a good starter guide for the Turtles).
Around the boulevard you will find a sample Benedict and Florentine luxurious pen, sionChicken and Petable vendors, and a nice display habitat containing several Petable turtles.
The boulevard for Chickywood is beautifully done, looking ‘”posh” as any Brit may suggest. Whilst I admired the Petable turtles on display, Pacific sat down in the supplied garden furniture, admiring the luxuriousness of the place.Or being lazy, depending on who’s version is allowed to remain here. (Pacific’s Note : Aunty, you win that one, but I’ll remember it.)

Both Pacific and I were excited to take a look into Benedict & Florentine. Originating with chickens in mind, the store now is looking towards catering for turtles and perhaps bunnies in the future also, with a luxurious range of pens and toys (jewel toys, in fact).
Reading Callie’s blog, we have found that there are intentions to open a sister SIM to Chickywood called Bunnywood for this specific AI animal when they are released. In the meantime, Benedict & Florentine provide demo models of habitats / pens available for sale which will accommodate your sionChickens or Petable Turtles in eloquent comfort. There are also sionChicken eggs for sale instore. And lots of gemstone toys on display in pretty cartier like easter eggs.
Having taken a liking for the B&F Chateuax Jardin pen, we then found a range of three different pens on display on a shelf, complete with sionChicken chicks inside. Ultra cute, even if I do like turtles.

B&F also do a nice range in gift eggs – fill them with transferable gifts to give away, and display platters or eggs. There are little cushions for your pampered pets to display on also.

The Chateau Amour is an example of the beautiful packaging for the pens available at B&F. Contained within is a 33 prim chicken house (with curtains, pillows, chandelier & rug, and a blank name texture). There are three sizes available in the Chateau and it comes in 7 colours.

There are several other pens similarly packaged up. Pacific’s favourite was the Chateuax Carnival , in either monochrome greys or the purples and teal on display.

Mine was the Chateuax Jardin, offering three sizes – the largest will hold up to six sionChickens, and contains a pillow and rug with 5 poses in it. There are four models of this pen, a square format – single floor or double-story; or a circular format with single or double floor options.
Which pen will it be then? (hey, I made a rhyme!)
Looking at them, Pacific made a comment about the Jardins making good pens for bunnies. Hmmmm….
Targeting the truly upper echelons of chicken fanciers, the Keepsakes egg is an egg display which is tintable. You tint the Keepsake egg to the colour of your favourite sionchicken egg before it hatches, and can keep the egg display as a keepsake of that moment.

Whilst Pacific shushed my laughing at that one she did point out that the whole of Chickywood is actually catering towards people exactly like us – AI pet fanciers who aren’t farming for profit or to sell, but rather people who are keeping a few AI pets (whether chickens, turtles or bunnies) and want to spend some time with them, watching them grow and interact with us.
Chickywood, Posh Farms and Benedict & Florentine certainly do that, in spades. And I’ve landmarked it to go back to – I know exactly what to get Pacific for her birthday next year now.
