Pacific, my niece, was feeling really down yesterday. Sometimes we in real life forget that mourning takes time, and it’s not an immediate fix. To brighten her up a bit, Black, my nephew decided that we needed a challenge. A silly costume challenge.
Given that we now have three different A1 animals to look after (granted, I have two, and Pacific still keeps a few chickens), we decided (okay, Black decided, and I just went along with him) that that would be the challenge – to dress up like the animals. Turtle, Bunny and Chicken costumes.
Can you feel my thrill? Anyway…
We then drew our three names out of a hat and three animals. Black was quite chuffed to be drawn the turtle (I speculate how that may have happened considering he held the folded over paper bits), while Pacific didn’t seem quite so happy to have to go out and find a chicken costume. Me, I think I drew the long straw, but overted my choice away from all the fancy-dancy bunny-girl costumes with laced stockings because I knew Pacific would be envious.
We had to go out and find the silliest costumes we could find, and both girls ended up resorting to purchasing over xstreetsl.com because of convenience sake, whilst Black went away into SL for some time, and I could have told you he’d go for a Teenage Ninja Turtle costume before I even witnessed his return.
I remember seeing the KFC bucket costume used at some chicken market somewhere, so I’m not 100% certain Pacific put that much effort into her choice. But – she did seem to start enjoying herself a little more when we all teleported up to her photo studio to surprise each other with our new ‘animal look’.
I’m not sure I saw her crack a smile, but then I couldn’t either as I had so many costume bits on attachment points that my glasses had to go onto my mouth. Any movement of my mouth, and my glasses would have gone skew-iff. It was difficult enough trying to get all our slightly odd avatar bits into position, let alone not being able to see where I was hopping along to.
So, we may all be looking grumpy (apart from Michaelangelo, that is) but we did have a good time with this challenge.
(Note : I teleported away before Black could suggest we all go out in public looking like this. One must retain some dignity at this age).
