Some time ago I previewed the mini garden scene, highlighting the miniature gardens in a box kits that come from Pocket Gardens. There is now a new freebie garden out to subscribers, and a previous freebie has now become a much larger pack of different sizes with new features. Let’s take a quick look…
Pocket Gardens – Mood: Jaune (3 x 3)
This is the new garden sent out to subscribers. Mood: Jaune is tiny at 3 x 3 but doesn’t feel it regarding features. The garden comes in two parts – the actual garden is 12 prims, and there is a base unit of 1 prim if you wish – this matches the wood texture of the bench.
The bench comes with two cuddle couple poses in it. The ground texture is changeable from grass to gravel, stone or an alpha to allow your little prefab garden to blend into your own landscaping. A little yellow bird at the front offers optional birdsong and environmental sounds that change with the SL day sequence.
Pocket Gardens – Flowers: Despite and Still
Previously the small version of this urban garden was a subscribo gift. It’s now back in several sizes with new features. This garden has always been one of my favourites – despite living on a tropical island I love the urban and grungy look that you can create in second life, and this garden speaks of flowers (and weeds) growing in harsh environments, and nature winning through. The new version has a very different look to it, and I love the little bird sitting on the barrel and the wall prim which is useful to set the look.
The three new sizes available for Despite and Still are now -
* Pocket Gardens – Flowers: Despite and Still small (3 x 3): 15 prims
* Pocket Gardens – Flowers: Despite and Still medium (3 x 5): 28 prims
* Pocket Gardens – Flowers: Despite and Still large (3 x 7): 46 prims
As with most of the Pocket Gardens, the ground textures are customisable – Despite and Still has two color themes and eight ground textures including an alpha to blend the garden into your own urbanscape. The stone, tire and overturned barrel can be sat on. And spot the rat hiding in that barrel too. The medium and large gardens also have an additional pose in the other barrel too.
Despite and Still also comes with an optional base prim and a wall prim to offset and border your garden with. There is also a menu-driven light with prim and light color change, light intensity and off or on settings.
