Previously having featured prefab landscaping little gardens, join me in my quest now for the best prefab vegetable, herbal and backyard kitchen gardens readymade (or easily made) for your own garden and photography needs.
There are too many to list here, and too many I ended up choosing, so I’ve broken this up into three posts. This is Part III, featuring Belle Belle, Tesh Garden Centre and Danick Garden and Supply.
Belle Belle – Vegetable and Flower Gardens
No post on prefab gardens would be complete without featuring the detailed work of Belle Belle. These may be a little prim-intensive, but once you’ve got one, you’ll find you have it set out forever, it’s so pretty.
Belle Belle Vegetable Garden – L$390 – this comes premade up, with a sit animation of working in the soil. The garden gives out a shovel for that work also.
Belle Belle Flower Garden – L$490 – this one comes with a shovel and work animation also, plus a bucket and the wheelbarrow you see here.
Belle Belle Friendship Tree – if you’re after something bigger for your garden, the Friendship tree offers a mound with large tree, stump, couples hammock and picnic setting. Aside from the poseballs on the hammock, you can choose and use your own poses on the rest of this scene.

Tesh – Vegetable Garden and Pack
If you want to grow (or put together) your own vege garden, there are plenty of individual vegetables available out there. Some of my favourite must be found at Tesh Garden Centre. These veges and flower plants for these particular gardens are hand-drawn! As with Belle Belle, the detail and texture work on Tesh (TSG) items is supurb, but you tend to pay for that with higher primmage. You should see the shading on the dark wood of the greenhouse, however, and the hand-drawn sunflowers. Beautiful.
Tesh – Veggie Garden – Put together your own veggie garden with packs of tomato, chilli peppers, lettuce and tomato plants, pumpkin plants add an old metal working sprinkler, and my favourite – anyone of the selection of trained grape vines.
Or Tesh Gift Set 2 – buy a whole swathe of garden in one gift set package – comes with tomato plants, pepper plants, sunflowers, loevetanns (weeds), a wheelbarrow, an old fashioned lawn mower, watering can, shovel, rake, planting tool and three cabbage salad veggies. 17 items in all, for L$999. Each of the items is available individually also, of course. The old lawn mower goes for L$169 and 18 prims.
In my travels I’ve come across many greenhouses around Second Life. I profiled Shade’s Battered Greenhouse in Part II of this series. Now for another favourite – that of Tesh’s Greenhouse – this is 84 prims, with working windows for L$550. No benches or any accessories inside, and no base to stand it on, but it’s very pretty. And I’ve seen it around a couple of spots in SL lately, so apparently popular.
TSG Essentials : A Gardeners Dream 01 – Spring 2009 At Tesh I found this prefab garden scene. I had a look around but couldn’t spot another. This one features a linked build of a magnolia planting event. There is a hole shovelled out of the earth, and a large magnolia sitting in it, with a magnolia bush waiting nearby to be planted also. The Gardeners Dream scene is 77 prims all-up, for L$500. It doesn’t contain any animations, but is very pretty.

Danick Home & Garden Supply – Vege Gardens
Finally, another option for creating your own, or purchasing prefab vegetable gardens without poses, can be found at Danick Gardens. There, many low primmed pre-made vegetable gardens, herb gardens and even mushroom gardens can be found, or you can purchase a soil garden and individual plants. Some of my favourites -
Danick – Salad green garden – only 17 prims and L$150, and you can easily find some more vegetables to add, or a watering can etc.
Danick – Vegetable Garden – only 18 prims, and I would add a pumpkin and pumpkin plant out of the pumpkin patch nearby – just like a real life garden. What? you don’t go and plant a pumpkin in the corner of your veggie garden and watch it overtake the entire area?
Danick Beehive – this one is lovely. Only 7 prims, and it has flying bees – and sounds. Unlike emitters, where you’d expect the bees to fly outwards from the hive, the animation on this beehive flies bees into the hole.
Danick Undersea World – yep, there’s a mermaid garden store also, and in this area you will find little prefab scenes for under your sea (put on your best fins beforehand obviously). This one is only 15 prims, and L$150, and throws up bubbles for you, and has fish. No sitting animation / pose, so find your own. Okay, so it’s not strictly a vege garden, but it is somebody’s (maybe a shark) kitchen, surely?
