Being only a year old in my second life, this new Beta viewer is the first real big change I’ve been party too. Like many, I’ve been slowly trying out the SL 2.0 beta viewer, hating some parts to it, and enjoying some others. My main beef as a laptop user is the camera controls – bring those back, please. But other than that, I actually enjoy some of the changes.
Not this, though.
Since downloading and using the Beta viewer, my other viewers are acting (what one can only call) ‘totally screwy’ all the time also. I am resorting more and more to going back to Emerald which appears (slightly) more stable than my standard 1.23 official viewer this time around. This never was the case until SL 2.0 beta arrived for me. This afternoon, however, I forgot to log back in via Emerald, and instead hit the SL 1.23 viewer icon.
This is what I’ve got. Rainbow textures on several Ozimals bunnies – not all of them – and the ears of the PinkyPigs. The sionChickens and HunnyBunny bunnies and Petable Turtles are unaffected, but some of the textures on parts of my barn walls and signs are.
I kinda like the ears on the Pigs like that though…
[Fifteen minutes later, still loading - I think I'll quit out and try again on a different viewer later. Sighs.]
Important note : This is not a new special for either Ozimals bunnies, or PinkyPigs. No such rainbow animals truly exist. Do not adjust your set – it’s my viewer that’s screwed, not yours.

Funny, I had the exact same visual glitch a while ago – don’t remember which viewer I was using, but it was on Feb 20 and so definitely before downloading the Beta viewer: I was standing next to another avatar whose hair suddenly got rainbow-coloured strands.

I always assumed it had something to do with either the most current standard viewer or the latest version of Emerald, because after that I had various visual glitches of different kinds that haven’t completely gone away yet.
This is happening to me also after using Beta 2.0 viewer then switching back to the other viewers. In case you’re unsure how to resolve it, it is to Reset Cache (Preference>Set Up tab>Reset) on Beta 2.0 or Clear Cache on the other viewers. I have other issues to but will save that for another time. Cheers.
